How does CO2 neutralisation work

On the way to reaching a net zero goal, companies can choose to compensate for, or neutralise, their emissions with the help of emission reduction projects or carbon removal projects.

The compensation of CO2 emissions is based on the principle of global climate balance: It is irrelevant for the climate where in the world emissions are emitted and where they are saved. Unavoidable emissions that occur in one place on earth can be offset by additional climate protection measures elsewhere.

SMC initiatives to reduce
of CO2 emissions

SMC has set ambitious climate goals to ensure
carbon-neutral operation.

Carbon compensation is a building block in SMC’s climate strategy.
