Key Insights:

  • On December 3 and 4, 2026, the 19th German Sustainability Award (DNP) will be presented in Düsseldorf, recognizing pioneering contributions to the sustainable transformation of business and society.

  • First Climate will once again support the event as an official service partner and will be responsible, among other things, for calculating the event’s carbon footprint.

Since its inception in 2008, the German Sustainability Award has evolved into one of Germany’s leading sustainability congresses, bringing together experts from commerce, municipalities, government, academia, and organizations each year. Through its award programs, the DNP honors organizations and individuals in the categories of Business, Products, Health, Architecture, and International Partnerships who demonstrate exceptional commitment to building a more sustainable future. This year, particular emphasis will be placed on the transformation areas of Climate, Resources, Nature, Value Chains, and Society. Award winners are selected by an independent expert jury.

A new addition is the expansion of the Business Award through the introduction of the European Sustainability Award (ESA). Beginning in 2027, this European recognition will highlight companies that are successfully advancing sustainable transformation. In Germany, ten business awards will continue to be presented across three company-size categories. National award winners will automatically qualify for the European final, which will take place next spring.

First Climate Calculates the Event's Carbon Footprint

As the event’s official service partner, First Climate will once again support the German Sustainability Award in 2026 by calculating its carbon footprint. During the congress, First Climate will be on site with an information booth where attendees can anonymously record their own travel-related emissions. By doing so, attendees directly  contribute to the calculation of the event’s overall carbon footprint.

In addition, the organizers ensure that both the year-round planning and production phase as well as the event itself are managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable event management. More information is available here: https://www.nachhaltigkeitspreis.de/dnp/responsible-event.
