Getting Climate Action Up and Running

First Climate returns as official climate protection partner for B2Run in 2023

On to the next round! Also, this year, First Climate and the corporate run event organizer, B2Run, renew their partnership. The team at First Climate is excited to join up with other motivated runners at B2Run Frankfurt’s starting line and cross the finish line all together.

B2Run Frankfurt company run

In total, around 180,000 participants are expected to take part in B2Run’s Germany-wide running events. First Climate is pleased to be participating in the company run in Frankfurt am Main again this year. More than 20 team members will demonstrate their athletic qualities at the 5 km company run in Deutsche Bank Park, sharing fun and a sense of achievement. In addition, First Climate will again accompany the event as a climate protection partner, as it did last year.

Climate-friendly running event

"Active. Together" is the creed of B2Run. The corporate run organizer takes this ideology very seriously from a sporting point of view – but B2Run is also actively involved in climate protection. As with all running events, it is impossible to avoid producing greenhouse gases during the organization phase, but other emissions are derived from the participants' travel to and from the event. In order to keep the carbon footprint as low as possible for the entire running series as well as the BASF Company Cup taking place at the Hockenheimring in Baden-Württemberg, B2Run is investing in a renewable energy project in Uganda as part of its partnership with First Climate, thereby promoting sustainable development in the project region.

Alongside financial support to a climate protection in Uganda, in this year’s event season, B2Run has started a new tree planting campaign called, “One Tree per Team” (in German: “Pro Team ein Baum”). Already, the corporate run organizer has reached its initial goal of planting 7,500 trees, which corresponds to the same number of participating teams. And on top of this, B2Run 2023 has given itself an even more ambitious goal to be met by the end of the event season: In keeping with the slogan "Challenge accepted!" a total of 10,000 trees are scheduled to be planted in connection with various afforestation projects, many of which are in Nepal.
