Kärcher wins the German Sustainability Award

Out of seven finalists in the category resources, the jury decided in favor of Kärcher. The company is based in Baden-Wuerttemberg and specializes in efficient cleaning technology, being the global market leader in this sector. In 2014, Kärcher introduced the holistic sustainability strategy “Sustainability Excellence”, which it still pursues to achieve its goals. It continuously optimizes its manufacturing processes and products to make them as resource-efficient and sustainable as possible. This year, Kärcher achieved the goal of carbon-neutral production in all of its plants around the globe. The company is supported by First Climate who is responsible for the compensation of operational greenhouse gas emissions and for the supply of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs).

The jury consisting of six experts praised Kärcher for expanding the sustainability of its core operations, its supplier auditing, and the increased energy efficiency of its product range. By continuously optimizing its products, the company is contributing notably to a more sustainable future.

Mike Hatert, Head of Global Sales & Renewables at First Climate, observed the award ceremony on behalf of First Climate. He is extremely pleased with the jury’s decision and the success of the world’s leading provider of cleaning technology: “We congratulate Kärcher on receiving this prestigious award. Our partner’s success is well-deserved, and we hope that its exemplary commitment to sustainability and environmental protection will also inspire other companies to accelerate their efforts for a more sustainable future and more environmental protection.”
