Energy Attribute Certificates as Tools for Effective Climate

Free online seminar by CDP and First Climate on 5th July 2022

For most corporate entities, meeting carbon neutral targets and finding sustainable paths to get there continues to be a critical part of the journey to net zero. In a joint online seminar, CDP and First Climate will elaborate on best-practices in making use of Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) as a fundamental component of effective corporate climate action.

In this 60-minute session, entitled “Energy Attribute Certificates as tools for climate action: the role of quality labels and CDP compliance criteria,” First Climate’s Renewable Energy (RE) experts Anton Schön, Lotus Shaheen, and Steven Krawietz will highlight how Energy Attribute Certificates (EACs) are beneficial components of effective climate action. The First Climate team will be joined by Nicholas Fedson, Senior Analyst - Renewable Energy at CDP, who will give insight into the existing requirements companies must follow and shed light on current criteria updates and enhancements.

In the next part, First Climate will follow with an overview of various EAC quality labels as well as an introduction to various RE available offers. Furthermore, the participants will gain an understanding of how to procure renewable energy while staying focused on added value and staying in compliance with CDP requirements. An extended Q&A session at the end of the session will give participants room for exchange and clarification. The online seminar takes place on:
