KlimaKombi+ is First Climate’s one-step option for companies looking to combine offsetting of unavoidable emissions through certified global projects with regional climate change mitigation. In cooperation with their partner, Bergwaldprojekt e.V., First Climate offers clients an option to support one of four climate protection projects located across Germany.

Climate Protection plus Local Engagement equals KlimaKombi+

For years, First Climate has helped companies identify and connect with verified and innovative climate protection projects across the globe to make emissions reductions possible in support of their voluntary climate commitment. With the new KlimaKombi+ offer, companies can now also directly support environmental projects right here in Germany as well. KlimaKombi+ products are a convenient and rewarding way to support local projects while activating global effects.

With KlimaKombi+, when you offset your carbon footprint through support to the Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve REDD+, a recognized forestry protection project in Indonesia, you can also designate an additional donation to nature conservation projects in Germany. An additional donation will be made to one of four Bergwaldprojekt conservancy measures in Bavaria, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, and Thuringia. KlimaKombi+ customers can decide which of the four projects they would like to support.

"We noticed that more of our customers were asking ‘how can we deepen our commitment to climate action in our community?’ So, we designed an option where we could bundle verified international emission reductions with local environmental projects. This way, our clients can make an impact across the globe and at home" says Mike Hatert, COO, First Climate Markets AG.

More green spaces and trees; more healthy habitats

First Climate's conservation partner, Bergwaldprojekt e.V. runs project weeks with volunteers all over Germany. To date around 40,000 volunteers have already helped plant four million trees, maintained more than 1,000 hectares of mountain range forests, rewetted nearly 200 hectares of peatlands, and laid out over 350 kilometers of mountain trails. In their hands-on nature projects, volunteers can learn about forest conservation, protect ecosystems, or participate in active maintenance and restoration projects – all of which encourage local climate engagement.

Join First Climate’s climate action initiatives and be “green by choice.” More information about the KlimaKombi+ products are available on our website.
