As part of its new Radisson MeetingsTM offering, Radisson Hotel Group puts a strong emphasis on the sustainability of meetings and events held at all hotels across the group’s seven brands worldwide. Besides a drive to minimize food waste and eliminate the use of single-use plastics, this also involves carbon neutrality of all meetings and events by automatically offsetting GHG emissions. To do this, Radisson Hotel Group has teamed up with First Climate.

“Radisson Meetings represents our commitment to deliver a personal, professional and memorable service to our guests, and to respond to changing market trends and expectations,” said Eric De Neef, Executive Vice President & Global Chief Commercial Officer, Radisson Hotel Group, at the launch of Radisson Meetings in Frankfurt, Germany.

As he pointed out, Radisson Meetings involves major investments in the meeting venues worldwide, in training of teams and in technology.

“Finally, all Radisson Meetings are carbon neutral – we are the only hotel group worldwide to automatically offset any carbon footprint at no cost to our guests,” De Neef explained.

Supporting customers’ climate goals

For each meeting, the carbon footprint is automatically calculated & offset through First Climate. Radisson Hotel Group supports five different projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas – all certified to either the Gold Standard or the Verified Carbon Standard. By generating multiple benefits for local communities and the environment, the projects also support the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

As Inge Huijbrechts, Global Senior Vice President Responsible Business and Safety & Security, Radisson Hotel Group, points out, Radisson Meetings is part of the group’s broader commitment towards sustainability, which involves infrastructure investments to reduce energy demand and to cut emissions in the group’s hotels worldwide.

For First Climate CEO, Jochen Gassner, Radisson Meetings can be an important tool to help reduce emissions resulting from meetings and events globally. “We are proud to enable Radisson Hotel Group’s commitment and to support this pioneering approach to climate protection,” he says.

“By offering carbon neutral meetings and events, Radisson Meetings is designed to align with our guests’ goals to minimize their carbon footprint.”
