Management Board

Markus Hüwener is co-founder of 3C and CEO at First Climate. He oversees the fund management and trading business. Markus has successfully managed several large transactions in the EU emissions trading market with a combined volume of over 15 million tonnes together with banks, industrial clients and funds. He is also the initiator and structurer of the first carbon fund that is also directed towards private investors, Climate Change Investment I S.A., in Luxembourg. Before founding 3C, Markus was Managing Director at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW), the investment bank of Allianz Group, in Frankfurt, Germany, where he introduced emissions trading in 2003.

Urs Brodmann is co-founder of Factor Consulting + Management AG and Chief Risk Officer at First Climate. He is responsible for the risk management of all carbon-related transactions at First Climate. He has supported more than 25 CDM projects in the registration process and has executed carbon transactions of a few million tonnes. Urs also examines CDM methodology applications for the CDM Executive Board, and currently guides multiple programs to promote CDM in India. Until 1999, he worked as an advisor in the fields of energy, transport and carbon trading for a leading Swiss consultancy firm.

Dr. Sascha Lafeld is co-founder of 3C and member of the Board at First Climate. He is responsible for the commercialization of VER projects, the development of corporate carbon neutral activities, the business development in the USA and First Climate's corporate communications. Before founding 3C, Sascha was Head of Dresdner Bank’s Climate Change Strategy and worked as a consultant for international environmental politics at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Paris, France. He currently acts as official advisor to the UNEP Financial Initiative and the Allianz Insurance Climate Core Group.

Thomas Stetter is co-founder of Factor Consulting + Management AG and Chief Operating Officer at First Climate. He oversees the origination and project finance departments where he develops the origination business and partnerships around the world. Thomas has supported several finance vehicles and companies in the development and implementation of climate change strategies. He is active as a department head of the Energy Agency of the Economy in Switzerland. Until 1999, Thomas worked for a leading Swiss consultancy as the responsible department head for project management as well as the company's subsidiary in Potsdam, Germany.

Alexander Lüchinger dipl. mechanical engineer, is co-founder of Factor Consulting + Management AG and President of the Board of First Climate (Switzerland) AG. He is responsible for the Carbon Asset Development and Project Finance Activities of the First Climate Group. He is basing in his daily work on over 30 years of practical experience with implementing projects in the heat and power sector, as well as in the environmental sector. The last 15 years Alexander concentrated on project work in EITs and CIS. Projects from about 30 countries can be found on his reference list. Alexander was responsible for the development and implementation of projects with a value of over 60 Mio € in EITs. In 1996 Alexander started together with Urs Brodmann the development of the first bilateral climate protection project ever validated - a project still monitored by First Climate today.
