In February 2004, the idea of neutralising the CO2-emissions of the 15th DJK sports meeting was presented to the steering committee of DJK federation and was well received. Until the final realisation of the project “climate neutral DJK sports meeting” in May 2005 a long path of applying for project funds, finding suitable cooperation partners and organising a climate change exhibition had to be accomplished.

In contrast to this, it was easy to convince the city of Münster, which is known for its engagement in environmental and climate protection, to support the climate neutral sports event. 3C is proud that this pilot project was a big success for all project partners as well as for all participants of the DJK sports meeting.

All clubs associated to DJK were invited to participate in a competition for a 1000€ gratification for their individual climate protection project. This competition was set up and advised by 3C and resulted in a presentation of various high quality projects.
