How can market strategies for emissions trading be developed and implemented? How can costs and risks be minimized at the same time? And how can even companies that are not directly affected by emissions trading participate in the new market? Since January 1 st 2004, 3c climate change consulting GmbH in Frankfurt/Main, Germany offers answers to these questions.
"The obligatory EU emissions trading system starting in 2005 will not only affect businesses that are directly involved. All other companies can also benefit from the new market by making climate protection a profit-driving element within their operations." Describes Dr. Sascha Lafeld, Managing Director of 3C the company's concept. The 3C service-portfolio comprises consulting services that range from active CO2-risk management to the complete management of all areas affected by EU-emissions trading, a service that will be of particular interest to small and medium sized enterprises as they won't have to allocate additional resources specifically for this purpose.
Another area of business includes the granting of the label "climate partner ". The label is awarded to products and services whose negative impacts on the climate are compensated for by emission reduction measures in other sectors. 3C hereby offers the entire development of the CO2-neutral product/service. Events that were made climate neutral by 3C include the 7 th Hessian Climate Protection Forum in Wiesbaden, as well as the conference "Sustainability in the economic sector as a global challenge" in Berlin where Klaus Töpfer, the executive director of UNEP was taking part.
