3C - The Carbon Credit Company was founded in fall 2003 as independent spin-off of Dresdner Bank/Allianz Group. Its services included consulting services regarding emissions trading and hedging strategies, Carbon Investment Advisory and comprehensive carbon offsetting services for major international corporate clients.

Factor Consulting + Management AG, founded in 1999, was one of the early movers in the carbon market. The company had a track record in project and methodology development, in high quality carbon credit generation, carbon finance, and a track record as a service provider for carbon risk management solutions.
